Dankar (or Tankar) is the common name for a chemical substance scientifically known as sodium borate or borax. It is a white, salt-like solid often sold by herbalists. Uses and properties: Common uses: Food preservation: Primarily used in Egypt to prevent the formation of worms or larvae in mish (aged cheese) and feseekh (fermented fish). As a preservative: Placed in sacks of rice or grains to prevent spoilage and insect infestation. Slime making: Used as a key ingredient in slime dough, which children play with, to give it a firm texture. Additional Information: Alternative names: Also known as "mish salt," "borax," or "sodium borate." How to use it in food: It is often recommended to place it inside a piece of cloth (cheesecloth), tie it securely, and then put it in the "blas" (a type of porridge) instead of sprinkling it directly to avoid a bitter taste or health risks.

Excellent product, the aroma is strong and 100% natural. Used it in cooking and the results were amazing. Will definitely order again.
Excellent! My mother agrees this is the highest quality she has seen. Thank you Sultan Al-Attara.
Good quality and fast delivery. But I expected a slightly stronger aroma. Overall a great shopping experience.
Very high quality, better than any spice shop I have bought from before. Fast delivery and packaging was excellent.
